Logo Project

The Process During this project, we were tasked with making our own logo on Adobe Illustrator. However, there was a long process we had to undergo before we even got on Adobe Illustrator. We started off by creating a few rough sketches in our sketchbooks. We came up with a few ideas for shapes, colors, and fonts we might want to use in our logo, but for the most part we were just focused on getting some ideas down on paper. After that, we gathered a few of our best designs, and decided which one we wanted to work with on the computer. After we did this, we started experimenting with our idea in black and white. Once we had come up with a few variations of our design, we started to try out different colors for our logos. Lastly, we chose one of the designs we had made with color, and tweaked it a little bit until we were satisfied. After this was done, we had finally come up with our own logo! My Final Design For our logos, we had to take in account what different colors, f...

Typography Project

Typography Overview In this project, we were approached with the task of creating a project to show different terms of typography by using Adobe Illustrator. Before we started, we were given some basic knowledge about typography. This included different fonts, and parts of letters. We were then able to use some of our prior knowledge about Adobe Illustrator to create a name line to show our newfound knowledge. This project once again I believe was a very good stepping stone in my knowledge and I think it will be very useful in the future. What I learned For this project, we started off by writing our names and sizing it appropriately, and then making three lines to represent the general height of different parts of the letters. We then labeled different parts of our name with words and arrows. Once again, the command "Option-Drag" was very useful, as it helped us copy and paste our labels easily. After we had labeled at least ten parts of our name, we tweaked the l...

Logo Color Schemes

Logo Color Schemes Analogous This Subway logo uses the analogous colors of green, yellow, and white. I think the company probably chose these colors because it makes the logo look very coordinated and organized. Also, I think these colors would really get you in the mood for eating at this food chain. This BP logo uses the analogous colors of green, lime, and yellow. I think the company chose these colors because they are very vibrant, and will make you feel much more energetic and willing to go to a place like this. Complementary This Fanta logo uses the complementary colors of orange and blue. I think this company chose to use these colors because they really stand out. When you are walking through a store, they will be very easy to notice, which will make them much easier to sell. Chili's logo uses the complementary colors of green and red. I believe they would have chose to use these colors because they look very good together, a...

Color Wheel Project

Color Wheel Project Overview During this project, we worked with Adobe Illustrator to create a color wheel. Beforehand, we were taught a little bit about the color wheel and program we would be working with, but since this was our very first time working with Adobe Illustrator, we had to do a lot of experimenting with the different tools. This project as a whole was a very good learning experience for me. It really helped me test the waters for a brand new program. As a whole I think this project will really help me in future projects, and it was a good way to start off our journey. My final design How We Did it During this assignment, we started off by making a big circle with multiple triangles imbedded in them by using the different shape tools. After that, we used the ellipse tool to create three circles that represented the primary colors. We then made squares and triangles that would represent the secondary and tertiary colors respectively. This whole process was ...

Sidewalk Chalk Group Activity

Our group brainstorming and coming up with our design. During these past three days we were put into groups of four with new people that we did not know. Our final goal was to create sidewalk chalk as a group, but the first thing we did was brainstorm ideas for this assignment. We talked about the meaning of different colors and symbols, and scribbled down  a few ideas we had individually. The next day, we started to brainstorm as a group. We all chose one of the symbols we had come up with the day before, and tried to find a way to incorporate them into one design. After some discussion, we came up with our final design and went outside to complete it. We worked on finishing our design with the chalk for the rest of the hour until we came up with our finished product. Our team's final product. In this activity, we all had to come up with a symbol that represented us. In the end, I chose to use a shield, which represents defense. However, a lot of our other symbols we f...
