Sidewalk Chalk Group Activity

Our group brainstorming and coming up with our design.
During these past three days we were put into groups of four with new people that we did not know. Our final goal was to create sidewalk chalk as a group, but the first thing we did was brainstorm ideas for this assignment. We talked about the meaning of different colors and symbols, and scribbled down  a few ideas we had individually. The next day, we started to brainstorm as a group. We all chose one of the symbols we had come up with the day before, and tried to find a way to incorporate them into one design. After some discussion, we came up with our final design and went outside to complete it. We worked on finishing our design with the chalk for the rest of the hour until we came up with our finished product.

Our team's final product.
In this activity, we all had to come up with a symbol that represented us. In the end, I chose to use a shield, which represents defense. However, a lot of our other symbols we felt could represent more than one of us, so in a way we all had a few things to symbolize us. We also had to come up with a color scheme for this activity. Our group chose to use lots of vibrant colors, such as blue, green, yellow, and purple. We felt like this would show happiness, so we thought it would be a good fit.

Our group worked together pretty well for the most part. However we probably could've been more decisive when making our design. We took a while to actually come up with our final product, so we could've done better on that. We also could've worked on our time management, as we actually didn't completely finish our sidewalk chalk. Nonetheless, I thought our group did a great job and I am very pleased with how our team worked together.

My Personality Type

ISTJ My personality type is ISTJ. This means I am introverted, sensing, thinking, and judging. People who are classified as an ISTJ are typically very analytical, reliable, and detail-oriented. They tend to value logical reasoning rather than emotional. They tend to prefer to be alone at times, and keep their thoughts to themselves. These people like to use processes that are proven to work, and also like to rely on their past experiences. Some famous people who share this personality type are George Washington, Queen Elizabeth II, and George H.W. Bush. As a whole, I believe this description of me is almost spot on. I think the quiz is definitely correct when it says I am introverted, and prefer to look at logic when reasoning. I believe I am definitely dependable and detail-oriented, but I think I also have some qualities of perceiving, to go along with judging. For example, I always try to not over schedule things, and I work pretty well under pressure. As a whole, I though t...

Typography Project

Typography Overview In this project, we were approached with the task of creating a project to show different terms of typography by using Adobe Illustrator. Before we started, we were given some basic knowledge about typography. This included different fonts, and parts of letters. We were then able to use some of our prior knowledge about Adobe Illustrator to create a name line to show our newfound knowledge. This project once again I believe was a very good stepping stone in my knowledge and I think it will be very useful in the future. What I learned For this project, we started off by writing our names and sizing it appropriately, and then making three lines to represent the general height of different parts of the letters. We then labeled different parts of our name with words and arrows. Once again, the command "Option-Drag" was very useful, as it helped us copy and paste our labels easily. After we had labeled at least ten parts of our name, we tweaked the l...

ONW Now Sophomore Edition

This was definitely the hardest project we've done this year. Not only was the time schedule very hard to meet, but there was also just a lot of things that had to be done. I definitely learned a lot about all the work that goes in to making a good news show. I learned how much goes on behind the scenes, such as what is done in the control room and with the camera and teleprompter. Personally, I really enjoyed working in the control room for this project. It was definitely a lot of pressure to work completely on the go. I had a huge part in the live recording of the show, which was definitely stressful, but I still enjoyed it. After doing this project, I would say the most important aspect of a successful news show is organization. It is extremely important for everybody to know exactly what their job is so they can execute perfectly. It is also very important to have good communication among your crew. For example, we didn't do a great job at communicating with our anchors...
