Self-Portrait Artist Statement

Josh's Life in a Nutshell In my self portrait, I chose to represent myself by filming myself reffing. With this, I wanted to show others my passion for soccer. I also wanted my peers to know I am responsible because it'll help show them that they can rely on me as their group member. I think that my video will also portray my good work ethic and ability to get the job done. I am satisfied with what I showed in my video and I think I did a good job at broadcasting what I am like. Out of all the other videos we watched, I enjoyed Alex's because I thought he did a great job at establishing a beginning, middle, and end to his self portrait. He could've changed a few things in terms of his camera positioning, but I thought the overall content was very interesting. During the making of this video, I had my sister film me from a couple different angles so I could decide which one I liked later on. I ended up choosing this angle because it was very close to the action and y...

Q4 Mood Music Project Reflection

Overview For this project, we started off by creating a hypothetical product. Once we had done this, we had to create other aspects to help advertise this product. So, after we had decided our product, we started on the actual graphics that would help to sell it. The graphics we were required to make included a 3D representation of our product, two web banners, a commercial, a logo and other graphic design images, and a website. All of these served a slightly different purpose in our advertising, but they were all important, so we were determined to make them all very good. This project definitely had its ups and downs for our groups, so we had to improvise our ideas a little bit. For example, our group started off with our animations, which was very difficult since we hadn't created our logo quite yet. All of this, although difficult, really helped to improve my skills in these different areas and I definitely learned a lot throughout the making of this project. Our group worked...

CSS and CARP Design

Overview Before CARP & CSS styles. During this project, we were given a webpage with titles, a picture, links, and some other minor details. The page was very dull, and disorganized, so we had to redesign the page using CSS styles and CARP. All we had was the starting template, with about 11 separate tags included that were linked to certain parts of the page. These were where the only changes to our page took place. Here we changed the color of our background and text, as well as choosing different fonts, and changing the alignment. All of these changes may look very complex, and completely different from the original design, but they both have the same code, with only minor differences that help to make the page look a lot better. Contrast During this project we had to change the colors, and style of certain things in order to add contrast to our page. We were able to create contrast first by changing the colors of our background and fonts. We made them pretty much opp...

My Personality Type

ISTJ My personality type is ISTJ. This means I am introverted, sensing, thinking, and judging. People who are classified as an ISTJ are typically very analytical, reliable, and detail-oriented. They tend to value logical reasoning rather than emotional. They tend to prefer to be alone at times, and keep their thoughts to themselves. These people like to use processes that are proven to work, and also like to rely on their past experiences. Some famous people who share this personality type are George Washington, Queen Elizabeth II, and George H.W. Bush. As a whole, I believe this description of me is almost spot on. I think the quiz is definitely correct when it says I am introverted, and prefer to look at logic when reasoning. I believe I am definitely dependable and detail-oriented, but I think I also have some qualities of perceiving, to go along with judging. For example, I always try to not over schedule things, and I work pretty well under pressure. As a whole, I though t...

A to B sequence

Overview During this project, we were tasked with creating a story which showed someone going from point A to point B. We had to use the 6 shot technique, which helps to show different angles, which each help to develop the story line. We also had to think about the sequencing of our shots, so they would flow nicely, and not confuse the viewer. Also, before we even started filming, we had to create a road map, where we sketched what we would be putting into our video. Once we had thought about all of this, we started the actual filming of the video. Production of the Video Once we started filming, we had to bring our ideas to real life. We had already come up with a general idea of what we wanted to film, but we had to make some small changes of location, and had to change some of the script so our video would be as interesting as possible for the viewer. After we had filmed, we started the editing process. During this, we chose multiple audio clips to fit the differen...

How to Print Video

Pre-Production Before the making of this video, we worked together with our partner to brainstorm the different shots and camera angles we wanted for our video. This lead us to making a story board, which pretty much summarized what we would be trying to do with our video. After we had done this, we got our iPads so we could put our idea into actual photographs. These allowed us to better envision what our video would be like when we actually started putting it together. This also helped us receive small critiques on how to frame our videos. After we had prepared all of this, my partner and I decided what we wanted to do individually for the video. We decided that he would film, and I would act, but we would both help frame the shots, as well as editing the video by ourselves. Now we were ready to start the production of the video. Production of the Video Now we had started the video itself, and with it we had to make many decisions and changes as a group. In this way I tho...

Website Portfolio Project

Website Portfolio Project Overview After all we have done this year in e9, we were assigned with creating a website on Adobe Dreamweaver to showcase all of our work for the semester. This website we would be creating would have two pages; one that was a main page, and talked about us, and then another page that was completely dedicated to our projects in e-Comm. Both of these pages were also accompanied by a sidebar, footer, links, and headers that we had to edit and change ourself. How We Did It This project on Dreamweaver was able to teach me a lot about the program, along with how to make a layout look pleasing to the eye. We started the project by changing the necessities of a web page, which are headers, a sidebar, and a footer. All of these aspects helped to make the page look much more presentable and professional. After this, we imported a picture of us, and our "Elevator Pitch" into the main page. These would help to serve as an introduction for the people...
