ONW Now Sophomore Edition

This was definitely the hardest project we've done this year. Not only was the time schedule very hard to meet, but there was also just a lot of things that had to be done. I definitely learned a lot about all the work that goes in to making a good news show. I learned how much goes on behind the scenes, such as what is done in the control room and with the camera and teleprompter. Personally, I really enjoyed working in the control room for this project. It was definitely a lot of pressure to work completely on the go. I had a huge part in the live recording of the show, which was definitely stressful, but I still enjoyed it.

After doing this project, I would say the most important aspect of a successful news show is organization. It is extremely important for everybody to know exactly what their job is so they can execute perfectly. It is also very important to have good communication among your crew. For example, we didn't do a great job at communicating with our anchors during the shooting of our show, which resulted in us having to redo a few takes. It's also important to make sure there aren't any surprises during the live version. This can lead to some stress or frustration, which hinders everyone's ability to do their job correctly. Thus it is extremely important to plan everything out and practice plenty before the actual shoot. As a whole, I really liked this project. I thought it was really cool that we did almost all of this on our own, and I am proud of our work. This project really makes me excited about being in SID and helping with news shows in the future.

Pre-Production For this project, we were assigned a specific movie about high school, and were told to remake the trailer. My group was assigned "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" for our movie. Ten Words Animation

Ten Words Animation Overview In this project, we were tasked with creating a video animation on Photoshop that included our first and last name, along with ten words we came up with that describe ourselves. We were taught a few things on how to use Photoshop, and were also able to use some of our prior knowledge from Illustrator to help us come up with a good layout, and then we created the actual animation. How We Did It For this project, we started off by typing in our ten words, along with our name. Once we had these in, we could choose individual colors and fonts for each word. After this, we had to put them into an arrangement on the page that was pleasing to the eye, and had an equal amount of white space between each word. Once we had done this, we created the animation itself, which included us making the letters move from one point to another, fade, and flip around. Color Wheel Project

Color Wheel Project Overview During this project, we worked with Adobe Illustrator to create a color wheel. Beforehand, we were taught a little bit about the color wheel and program we would be working with, but since this was our very first time working with Adobe Illustrator, we had to do a lot of experimenting with the different tools. This project as a whole was a very good learning experience for me. It really helped me test the waters for a brand new program. As a whole I think this project will really help me in future projects, and it was a good way to start off our journey.
